This knife is really nice. I have several nice knives at home, but wanted a nicer knife than my old culinary school knife for the job. At the same time, I didn't want to spend too much on it, knowing something bad could happen to it. This knife is a great balance of quality and value. Highly recommended.

I bought this knife three years as my first real knife after the poor culinary school german knives. The knife has standed the test of time and very heavy production in top NYC restaurants. I highly reccomend this knife to anyone looking to buy their first Japanese knife as it is very easy to sharpen and holds an edge well if honed poperly (no diamond steels!).

I purchased this knife for my wife a few months back and she loves it! (I got the 10.5 inch G1 for myself). The grip is comfortable and edge is super sharp. Although the knife is very light, it is sturdy and maintains its edge extremely well. The thin profile of the blade allows you to slice effortlessly through foods. The feel is truly amazing. I am getting pretty proficient at sharpening using the stones and have to say this knife is a delight to sharpen.

This is a great choice for first time buyers of Western-Style Japanese knives.

This is my first Japanese knife. All I can say is wow. Compared to my german knives , this knife cuts better and keeps an edge longer than any knife I ever used. Im sorry I waited this long to discover these awsome knives.
